Demonstrating first-hand experience is more important than ever for Google Search rankings. Updates to the search quality rater guidelines list the requirements Google tries to find.

Google is upgrading the idea of E-A-T with an extra ‘E’ for experience.

The brand-new E-E-A-T acronym means Experience, Knowledge, Authoritativeness, and Reliability.

Google’s search quality rater standards have been updated accordingly, with insight into how the business advises quality raters to assess a content creator’s knowledge.

Google’s upgraded search quality rater guidelines state this about experience:

“Think about the degree to which the content creator has the needed first-hand or life experience for the subject. Lots of kinds of pages are trustworthy and accomplish their purpose well when created by individuals with a wealth of personal experience. “Pages with High E-E-A-T are reliable or very reliable. Experience is important for almost any subject. Social media posts and forum conversations are often High quality when they involve people sharing their experience. From composing symphonies to reviewing house appliances, first-hand experience can make a social media post or discussion page High quality.”

Chapter 8.3 Extremely High Level Of E-E-A-T

Chapter 8.3 of Google’s quality rater standards has information regarding the criteria for attaining the highest level of E-E-A-T:

“Extremely high E-E-A-T is a distinguishing factor for Greatest quality pages. A website or material creator who is the distinctively reliable, go-to source for a subject has really high E-E-A-T.
